If you are in Berlin, searching for an authentic German meal, Augustiner is the place to be. Our tour guide was the first to recommend this restaurant. Our meal was excellent and lived up to his rave reviews. The first course we ordered was the Bavarian bread soup with cheese dumpling and fresh leeks. The depth of flavor in this soup was incredible, with the richness of the flavor-infused broth paired with the freshness of the diced leeks on top. The second course was a pair of course fried Augustiner sausages with creamy mashed potatoes and some of the best Sauerkraut I have ever eaten. For dessert, warm apple strudel and vanilla sauce with a garnish of fresh strawberries and a Poha berry. For my first visit to Berlin, it was a definite treat to enjoy such a succulent German meal. If my travels take me back to Berlin, you can rest assured that I will make plans to enjoy another culinary adventure at Augustiner!
